My idea for Fintech is to include in-game currency purchase options for kickstarter projects.
For example, Friday the 13th The Game was a Kickstarter campaign where people interested in the game and who wanted to support it could pay for the game which helped the initial development.
These people got access to the game on release and a few additional bonuses. However, there is risk with investing in games like this. There is a possibility that the game may not ever be made or it will fall flat from expectations and hopes. In many cases, payments are not refunded.
My idea is that in-game currency is used to buy the game on Kickstarter. So the person would buy the currency, then use that to buy the game. Then if the game was released, the same amount could be gifted to the person who supported development. If the game is not released, the currency can be traded with other in-game currency from different games. This would obviously mean that many developers and publishers would have to sign up and agree to this idea but with the gaming industry having such a large community it would be a possibility.
